This craze has sent most crocheters and yarn enthusiast scrambling through their yarn stash pulling out any variegated yarn that they have ever bought to try and see if they can get this color pooling thing to work. I have seen people expressing their frustrations and I have seen people expressing their excitement when it works. I have had my moments of both but am absolutely excited about learning something new and adding yet another project to my ever growing list of "things to make"! WHAT HAPPENED WHEN I PUT A PAN OF SQUASH IN MY CAR IN JULY??

 What Happened when I put a pan of Sliced Squash in my Car in July? I am all about saving some money and as my husband will tell you I will try about anything to try and save a $. I have seen Pins and post about people using solar ovens and solar power to cook or warm food so I figured I would give it a try and this is what happened.... It was 2:44 in the afternoon and 90 degrees outside. I wanted to cook some of the squash that I just got out of the garden but being the tight wade that I am all I could think about was if I turn the oven on it will heat the house up even more and make my poor air conditioner run that much harder. At that point I could just envision my light bill going up but my mouth was watering and my stomach growling so I had to do something... I had just went out to my car to get something and it was steaming hot in there so a light bulb went off & I thought "I wonder if I can cook these squash in the car"... I figured why not.. So I put

Hello Everyone!! If you are like me you have been seeing everyone all over the internet making these crochet mermaid blankets. Well I finally bit the bullet and made one myself. I looked at SOOOO many different patterns. I finally decided that  Mj's off the hook designs  was my favorite. It is a very well written and easy to follow pattern. It worked up really quickly and easily and it is a beautiful finished product!! This is my finished product! I love how it turned out!! I used Lion brand Homespun.  I was so surprised at how easy this was! If you have been debating trying to make one I would definitely say GO FOR IT! UPDATED to show in the newborn size for  Mj's off the hood designs Mermaid blanket . I made this one with Red heart SS in cream color. I also tried a new pattern by  Knitsy Crochet  for a newborn mermaid tail. This works with a regular weight yarn instead of chunky and gives a thinner more delicate feel making it great for tiny newborns and pho
